Osmosis Labs is a leading decentralized exchange (DEX) and cross-chain DeFi hub built on the Cosmos ecosystem by Sunny Aggarwal and Josh Lee. It focuses on influencing the future of Interchain DeFi, AMM (Automated Market Maker), and multichain liquidity in a straightforward, user-friendly manner. Built using the Cosmos SDK and powered by Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC), Osmosis makes it easy to trade, stake, and add liquidity across different blockchains without relying on intermediaries. Often called the liquidity center of Cosmos, it connects assets from 100+ ecosystems and gives users access to multiple DeFi tools in one place. Osmosis Labs Milestones Year Achievements 2021 Osmosis went live as the first major IBC-enabled AMM. It introduced LP Staking and customizable liquidity pools right from the start. 2022 Superfluid staking was rolled out, letting users stake the OSMO in their LP positions. This helped secure the network while still earning yield. 2023 Concentrated Liquidity (CL) went live, improving capital efficiency in a big way. The ProtoRev module was also added to capture MEV for the protocol. 2024 Wormhole and Skip Protocol were integrated for smoother “one-click” bridging. DEXpert was launched, along with updates to the mobile interface.
