Gelato Network is a Web3 infrastructure platform that provides Rollup as a Service (RaaS). It helps developers to construct, launch, and expand their own blockchain rollups, smart wallets, and decentralized apps (dApps). It started as a smart contract automation network and has grown into a full-stack infrastructure layer for Web3. Gelato now supports DeFi, gambling, enterprise apps, and Layer-2 ecosystems across several blockchains, processing billions of transactions across over 100 chains. Key Features of Gelato Network: • Web3 Automation with Smart Contract Execution automates contract tasks with both on-chain and off-chain triggers. • Smart Wallets and Account Abstraction provide gasless transactions and allow users to pay fees in any token using ERC-4337. • Gelato Relay (Transaction Relaying) enables rapid and secure transaction processing and cross-chain payments. • Cross-chain and multi-chain support works across Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Avalanche, and the BNB Chain. Gelato Network Milestones: Year Key Achievements 2019 Established by Hilmar Orth and Luis Schliesske to solve the lack of decentralized automation on Ethereum. 2021 Launched the GEL token to power the network, enabling payments, staking, and participation. 2022 Expanded to Polygon, Arbitrum, and Optimism. Launched Gelato Relay for gasless transactions. 2023 Introduced Web3 Functions, allowing smart contracts to pull off-chain data and trigger on-chain actions. 2024 Moved into Rollup-as-a-Service (RaaS). Partnered with projects like Lisk to deploy custom Layer 2 chains using OP Stack and Arbitrum Orbit.
